ok, so i have started to investigate on industrial sewing machines - yeah! but i haven't progressed very far - :-( ! i sent off an email to switzerland with some questions, alas no answer yet. yesterday a friend suggested to try the old online approach 'get advice in a store and then buy it cheaper online'. so next task for me is to find some specialized stores for industrial sewing machines in sydney, quiz them about what one needs to know and then go off and find the right one for me on ebay or gumtree. let's...

after all the ups and downs with trying different manufacturers i have come to the conclusion - if you want to create something new, you have to do it yourself! next step in this approach is to find a used industrial sewing machine.challenges:- i don't have a clue about industrial sewing machines .. what it needs to have, what is good, what is bad- i need one that handles heavier canvas but could also do t-shirt material .. can everyone do that?- how much does a used one cost? what is a reasonable price?anybody have...

the name 'songlines' was inspired by the dreaming tracks of indigenous australians, which are invisible paths across the land (or, sometimes the sky) which mark the route followed by a localized 'creator-spirit' during the dreaming. The paths of the songlines are recorded in traditional songs, stories, dance, and painting ... I want my bags to pass on similar stories :-)
