the day of the dead on november 2nd is a big holiday in mexico - and even more so in the state of oaxaca. celebrations start on october 31st with setting up altars with food, drink and flowers for the departed (i even saw one with steven jobs ;)) and spending the night on the graveyards with the graves decorated with flowers and candles waiting for the souls to come at midnight. some graves have amazing pictures of jesus or other holy images in colored sand on them. a lot of people dress up in skeleton costumes or...
