on my journey to find pre-loved fabrics with an australian story, to create bags with a story that will then continue with the buyer

    cheeky tent stories?

in my competitive watch i came across the company WiTHiNTENT. it uses fabric from the tonnes of broken and damaged tents that are left behind at the end of music festivals, to create shower-proof clothing and accessories for the festival market. each item is designed and made in the UK.

great idea. as there are plenty of festivals around australia it might be an idea to see if tents are also being left behind here. the material could be a bit too thin for messenger bags, but the stories that the materials come with .. i don't even want to start thinking about that ;-)

crafted from re-used australian materials, songlines' products inspire you to explore their past and create their future ... bags with a story. the start of the journey.

the name 'songlines' was inspired by the dreaming tracks of indigenous australians, which are invisible paths across the land (or, sometimes the sky) which mark the route followed by a localized 'creator-spirit' during the dreaming. The paths of the songlines are recorded in traditional songs, stories, dance, and painting ... I want my bags to pass on similar stories :-)
