on my journey to find pre-loved fabrics with an australian story, to create bags with a story that will then continue with the buyer

    surplus creativity

as my search for a sewing machine is still going on and the bags are waiting to be made, i have a bit of creative energy to focus on other projects. the task for australia day was to create a storage solution for mr. r's and my surfboards.

after tossing around a few ideas, a decision was made. reusing stuff came into place as well, as two unused bag straps are now tightly secured on the wall - alas, they did not really have a story to tell .. well, now they do ;-)

the sharks lined up to mark where the boards have to go (that approach to marking a spot made me giggle) and now the boards have a beautiful space in the hallway. thank you mr. r. great idea! great execution!

  • songlines's Space

crafted from re-used australian materials, songlines' products inspire you to explore their past and create their future ... bags with a story. the start of the journey.

the name 'songlines' was inspired by the dreaming tracks of indigenous australians, which are invisible paths across the land (or, sometimes the sky) which mark the route followed by a localized 'creator-spirit' during the dreaming. The paths of the songlines are recorded in traditional songs, stories, dance, and painting ... I want my bags to pass on similar stories :-)
