on my journey to find pre-loved fabrics with an australian story, to create bags with a story that will then continue with the buyer

    troubadour life

    walking through manly a few days ago i stopped to listen to a street musician: mike from passenger. awesome music that really touched me. all excited i called my friend who is producing the flavourcast podcasts and told him about it. well, he already new, people had already been raving about him ... isn't it amazing that one 'ordinary' street musician can grab the attention of so many different people in different locations at the same point in time.

    "How utterly remarkable that a lone musician can travel the globe, and literally from the street, connect with some of Australia’s finest musical talents to produce a self-funded album. This is the stuff of legend, with Passenger clearly evoking the humble, hardworking creativity of the troubadours of old." (quote from his myspace profile) - i couldn't agree more!

    passenger seems to be a UK based band, but as mike is touring australia i think he is a great inspiration for my (australian) bags :-)

    the name 'songlines' was inspired by the dreaming tracks of indigenous australians, which are invisible paths across the land (or, sometimes the sky) which mark the route followed by a localized 'creator-spirit' during the dreaming. The paths of the songlines are recorded in traditional songs, stories, dance, and painting ... I want my bags to pass on similar stories :-)
