songlines ... bags with a story

on my journey to find pre-loved fabrics with an australian story, to create bags with a story that will then continue with the buyer

    wrinkle problem

my bag prototype has a wrinkle problem: once you start wearing it the strap moves to one side, the metal ring starts to turn and the strap 'wrinkles'. i really, really don't like it when bags do that!!

any ideas out there how to solve this problem? creative engineers, fashion victims, geniuses? ideally the solution should not increase the overall cost of the bag of course ..

    my current ideas:
    - the strap that i am hoping to use for the final model is coming on monday. i hope it turns out a bit thicker and as such is less likely to 'wrinkle'.

    - the metal ring is clearly to thin and probably still to wide. i have some other rings to try, but they are not much slimmer. so hard to find the right ring - which is not plastic.

Run a line of stitching along the top one like you have the bottom one to fix it in place.....could that work?

good idea, but then you can't adjust the strap anymore :(

crafted from re-used australian materials, songlines' products inspire you to explore their past and create their future ... bags with a story. the start of the journey.

the name 'songlines' was inspired by the dreaming tracks of indigenous australians, which are invisible paths across the land (or, sometimes the sky) which mark the route followed by a localized 'creator-spirit' during the dreaming. The paths of the songlines are recorded in traditional songs, stories, dance, and painting ... I want my bags to pass on similar stories :-)
